Goodbye Finlay ….

Finlay

Finlay

Sparhawk Sapphire Knight

14th February 2003 – 21st May 2013

Sadly we had to say goodbye to our little man Finlay. He had been in a one-sided battle with bladder cancer. He was helped across the Rainbow Bridge laying the arms of his devoted mama, both of them sitting in his favourite place, at 15:30 GMT on Tuesday 21st May 2013.

When our emotions are not so raw, we shall post a fitting tribute to this very very brave little chap, who stole our hearts from the moment he was born.

    1. Speedy, The cheeky House Bunny – you are a good bunny and a good friend. Finlay will now certainly be running free, and maybe in his new home he might even be able to run as fast you, my dear friend xx

  2. No more pain from the “C” word. This one really hits home-I was born before he was. To his family, we went through this seven months ago and we feel for you. It’s better to have known him and have the memories than to not have had him at all. He had a great life with others who loved him-he couldn’t have asked for more.

    1. Kyla ….. how the devil do you always know when to say the rights words at the right time. I know this will have brought to the surface, memories of your devoted and beloved Kenzie and I thank you for dropping by. Despite the overwhelming sorrow that is momentarily incapacitating, the memories I hold of this little lad that shared my life, will remain with me …. always. I do hope you are fairing well.

    1. Thank you so much for dropping by, and also for “obeying” Kyla’s request! She is forceful when she wants to be. Big healing hugs is exactly what we need at the moment – so thanks!

    1. Thank you Dougall, we appreciate your kindness. Fin will be delighted to meet Uncle Fergus and I know they will be having fun. He’ll probably be introducing Uncle Fergus to his Scottie Mama Izzy, and then to his sister Kelpie and big brothers Gus and William – it’ll be a riot …..

  4. I know it hurts. What can make it better is getting another dog. One week after They lost Kenzie, They got me. I know I’m better off and I’m trying my hardest to make Them better off for getting me. It’s a win-win thing.

    1. Kaci you are adorable. I’m sure there will be another friend for Bobby shortly. Bobby does so love to play and being on his own will be difficult to do so and I’m sure the new doggie in the house will be as helpful as you’ve been.

    1. Larry and Bill Gates (!) Thanks for calling by. The pain and sorrow never really goes away, does it. It recedes to the smaller places in our minds and memories and then surfaces unexpectedly with the power and strength as if the loss you are forced to remember only happened that very instant. I hope you and Bill have a very happy, healthy and long life together.
