When Duffy met Duffy

In the little bit of spare time Mama has she’s been making these lovely little ‘amigurumi’ scottie dogs. Whilst looking for some wool she came across a wool that was called “Duffy”, so of course she had to buy it. She then made up a little scottie dog in this wool and yesterday she introduced them to each other. Well it was a riot. Mama had to stop the recording before woolly Duffy got shredded.

Connor. Born 12th December 2017, one of Sparta’s first litter of 5 puppies. Connor was a beautiful dark wheaten boy. Cared for passionately by Sparta and his human mama, along with the other 4 puppies,  around the clock for 26 days. He passed away on 7th January 2018 at 21:01pm in the loving arms of his human mama.

No one, including our vets, was able to tell us why. Mama thinks he had a reaction to the Panacur he and his other siblings were given on 4th January 2017. All the puppies were thriving until then. However the dose of Panacur blocked up their ability to poo, and when the poos eventually came out they had a plug of dead worms at the beginning of the poo. Four puppies rallied, but we think Connor developed something else.

He was very much loved, as are all sparhawk puppies, with 24/7 hands on care and attention throughout their 3 months with us, until they leave for their new homes.

Connor will always be remembered by us at Sparhawk Scotties. He has a little place of his own, with his urn on display alongside others that have crossed the rainbow bridge. We grieve for him for the scottie he never grew up to be and for the life he didn’t get to live. We hope that his 26 days surrounded by his loving family were enough for him, but for mama, she wanted him to have more.
