In Memorium

Agi
Agi, 11.11.90 – 3.12.2002

Today is possibly one of the worlds most important days of remembrance, other than for those of us who’ve lost companions on days other than 11th November.

This day allow us to openly mourn. To shed tears without embarrassment. To remember.

This day is doubly poignant for my family as this is the day 23 years ago, that Mama’s first Scottie dog, Agi, was born. Although I never met Agi, as she died in December 2002, two months before I was born, it is because of her that me and my mama-dog, brothers and sisters became part of the life of this family.

So, like millions of others, mourning the loss of people we’ve never met; paying our respects to those that have gone before; to those that have sacrificed their lives for others; I too pay my respects to these great people and include in my thoughts a little prayer for a devoted companion that I know Mama still misses ….. desperately.

Remembering my brother Gus

Oh My! I cannot believe that a whole year has passed since Gussie left us for the Rainbow Bridge. I do make sure he keeps putting in an appearance on what is now classified as “Bobby’s Blog” as I’m currently the only Sparhawk Scottie in residence.

Gus, looking handsome, one of our favourite photos

I hope you don’t mind a re-run of last years post photos, the one we did just before he crossed the bridge.

Now I don’t want you guys to be all down and depressed ‘cos for some of you you’ll be getting ready to celebrate Independence Day – so I’ll leave you to your preparations and hope that you all have a grrrreat day. For the rest of my friends around the world, I hop you also have a grrreat day, but in a quieter fashion!

Tribute to Finlay

I was going to put together a Tribute to my brother Finlay, to surprise Mama. But I too am distraught with his crossing the Rainbow Bridge and didn’t know where or how to begin. Little did I realise that my Facebook buddy Ruffles de Scottie has taken away my anguish and has very kindly and thoughtfully put together this very moving video.

Mama said she would cherish this for the rest of her life.

Heartfelt thanks to Ruffles de Scottie, Munchkin de Scottie and their human staff for this beautiful tribute to Fin-Fin

Goodbye Finlay ….

Sadly we had to say goodbye to our little man Finlay. He had been in a one-sided battle with bladder cancer. He was helped across the Rainbow Bridge laying the arms of his devoted mama, both of them sitting in his favourite place, at 15:30 GMT on Tuesday 21st May 2013.

When our emotions are not so raw, we shall post a fitting tribute to this very very brave little chap, who stole our hearts from the moment he was born.

Angus …..

It’s Sunday afternoon here in the UK and we thought we’d visit our blog to report on Fin’s latest ACTH test results and to share this information with our friend Angus.

But rather than being able to share some good news, we sit here at the computer in shock to read that Angus sadly passed away on Friday.

Our thoughts and sympathies go out to his family and doggie friends, as they too must be stunned by his death.

We are going to spend the rest of Sunday in quiet contemplation of yet another “fur-end” leaving us all too soon.

We dedicate this fabulous quotation we stumbled upon some years ago about a Scottie:

Angus

a loyal companion is hard to find, hard to lose,

and impossible to forget

Goodbye Gus ……

We couldn’t hold onto him any longer. Our new Vets made a home visit today at 12:30pm to help Gus cross the Rainbow Bridge.

Thank you all, for your words of comfort over the last few days.
