Bobby

Bobby, (Sparhawk Sapphire Knight)

14.02.03 – 16.06.15

One of the reasons for our absence has been trying to fix Bobby and get him better. Sadly our efforts to achieve this failed and we said an extremely emotional goodbye to him. He was cradled in my arms, in the garden of the house into which he was born, and at my nod, his wonderful vet Victoria, eased him gently across that Rainbow Bridge. He fought so very hard, in true scottie style, to win his battle not only with kidney failure, but liver problems and finally pancreatitis. He will obviously be forever remembered by me, his Mama. I know we’ll all meet up again one fine day.

I’m sorry that this will come as a shock to you all, but since April 2015 I just wanted to spend every single moment with my bestest boy, and to cherish the short days that I knew he had.

Here’s just 50 photos out of 1,000’s that I’ve taken of my scotties, but these sum up my beloved Bobby.

  1. I am so sad reading this. I thought of Bobby often during this time you have not posted and wondered how he was. Gus and Finley must have been happy to greet him at the bridge the brothers are together now. I will always remember him as the one who carried the pack for all of them. I send you warm hugs and sympathy. Run free Bobby.

    1. Thank you Lee and Sweet William for your kind words of comfort. They are helping ease the pain of his loss. I’m sure he is very happy being reunited with all his family across that Rainbow Bridge. One day we shall all be there, one great big worldwide happy scottie family. Lots of love to you both xx.

    1. Thank you boys for your kind words. Bobby will be pleased to run free as he could only amble in the end. However, he most certainly enjoyed sniffing at great length but I know it won’t take him long to be running free in that rainbow bridge garden. Lots of love to you all xx

    1. Oh Kismet …. we so adored Kyla. It was such a shock hearing about her crossing the rainbow bridge, we thought both her and Bobby would stay a little longer down here with us mere humans. Please don’t cry as it’s making us cry too. Looking forward to the day when we can remember them both with smiles rather than tears. Much love to you, and the “k” klan xxxxxx

We’re sending you love and prayers across the pond that your days will get easier with the thought of holding your memories close.

    1. Oh Stuart, you were the first ‘blog friend’ we made early in 2011. Your support during these sad days is very much appreciated. Time will heal the hurt of Bobby’s loss, and soon we shall all be able to remember him with smiles rather than the tears that still flow steadily each day. Much love to you and your Peeps xxx

  8. My deepest sympathies to you, losing our beloved furry family members is such a hard part of life. I looked at my own little Scottie who is in the winter of his life and took him for a wonderful long walk. Bobby was so very lucky to have been so loved.

    1. Thank you for your kind words. I hope that your little man enjoyed his walk. The death of a loved one always seems to bring us closer to those left behind. I hope you and Sir Jamie have many more years together.

  9. Oh noes. I am so sorry for your loss. I love your pics of Bobby….such a sweet and kind face! I know how hard it is losing a doggie. My neighbor, who recently lost her dog, told me that losing her dog was harder than losing her Dad. And she loved her Dad to pieces. This just shows how much the unconditional love of a pet means to us. I hope your sadness soon turns to smiles and laughter when you think of Bobby.

    1. Oh Edgar, you know just the right things to say. Our heart is slowly trying to mend, but every now and then it’s ripped right open with grief. We’ll get there in the end, especially with friends like you to support and help us.

  11. I am so very sorry! I have pinned so many pictures of Bobby for the past couple of years! He is so adorable! I am so in love with Scotties I can’t see straight! I know what its like having a sweet soul leave, I have several at the bridge. My heart goes out to you. Your Tribute here to Bobby brings tears to my eyes and reminiscence of the raw pain felt at the loss of a beloved furend! Thank you for returning the happiness he bestowed on you to him. You loved him deeply!
I have 2 babies. One is a 2 1/2 year old Scottie who I found at a Scottie Rescue 2 years ago. Riley is 1/4 Fox Terrier. His mom is 1/2 Scottie and 1/2 Fox Terrier. Riley’s Dad is full Scottie. He is so sensitive and shows his love to me quietly, not like my Westie/Cairn mix, Tessie, who is 3 years old and wags with her whole body! Riley is the quiet type, but he knows we love him and that he loves us!
God bless you! You are in my thoughts and prayers. Laura, Riley-Puppy and Tessie-Girl
