There’s only a few complete castles left standing in Scotland and this is NOT one of them. This one is on the banks of the River Teviot. I took Mama and Dada on a Borders Abbeys Walk one day during our stay in Scotland. Such a tranquil stretch of water. And of course I had to take a slurp or two – photos of which you’ll see shortly under the usual title of ‘Thirsty Thursday’.

2013 in review
The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2013 annual report for this blog. I couldn’t have done it any better!
Here’s an excerpt:
The concert hall at the Sydney Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 12,000 times in 2013. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 4 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.
Flashback Friday
When I was a “Show Boy”
Mmmm ….. now then, don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t a Show Boy for long. Mama was told by Dada, that if she wanted to keep me and Finlay, she would have to start showing us. I was selected first and started “showing” in 2003 when I was about 8 months old. Mama’s intention was to get us qualified for Crufts and to let us experience the most famous Show Ring of all. She thought it would take her years to get us qualified ‘cos we weren’t “bred for the show ring”, just as nice pets for nice families. Well, she got both me and Finlay qualified for Crufts in the first year of our respective show careers. We both “went to Crufts” and although we qualified for the next year after that first one, Mama said she was satisfied that once was enough. Here’s a couple of photos with the odd Trophy that we ‘won’.

Thirsty Thursday

Here’s me, slurping my way through a bowl of water at Gerardo’s Italian Restaurant in Mablethorpe. This is part of our routine when we are at our “other home”: Mama and I walk along the beach into Mablethorpe where I have my water and she has a cappuccino. She’s got a ‘loyalty card’ and she’ll get 1 coffee free after she’s bought 10 at £3.00 each!!
See also my new blue coat. No, it’s not to keep me warm, I’m not that sort – it’s to keep the sea spray and drizzle off my back when we are walking. I think I look quite ‘dapper’. Does anyone else wear coats when they go out? Let me know ‘cos I don’t want to be the only one!
On the twelfth day of Christmas My Peeps Gave to Me … Great Christmas Presents!!

Mmmm, not long now
My house is in a mess as we’re getting ready to go to the seaside! Not sure that’s still a good idea, but Scotties never say ‘no!”. Wonder if this fantastic “beach monster” will still be there! I’ll let you know in due course!
