Thirsty Thursday

IMG_1854

A slightly different angle to “Thirsty Thursday” this week. Remember the post that displayed the ‘broken babies’ that me and Mama fixed? Well here’s the new babies that Dada felt he needed to buy to replace those broken babies. This time he bought four of them ‘cos he knows that Mama loves her coffee. Aren’t these cute! They’ve managed to stay in one piece throughout our journey from Scotland to Mablethorpe; they lived there for a couple of weeks, then me and Mama brought them back home to our ‘main house’ in Nottinghamshire. We’ve got quite a collection of scottie cups now, including broken ones that Mama won’t throw away.

Bonfire Night

It’s Bonfire Night (or Guy Fawkes night) here in the UK. This is where we all apparently become ‘arsonists’ and set fire to very large public fires and then let off fireworks. This can sometimes occur several nights in a row and for Scotties like me who don’t like loud noises – it is very annoying.

So if you have to organise one of these events, do spare a care for all those animals who get anxious when hearing loud bangs and dazzling lights. Some of us are sensitive.

Whatever you are doing, just be very careful and don’t get injured.

One of my many homes this year!

Roughly Cottage

This was my holiday home for two weeks in July. It is a crofters cottage up the side of a mountain. The only other building you can see from here is The Hermitage in the distance. This is a fabulous cottage. It has NO ELECTRICITY, so no TV or radio. It has been updated since Mama & Dada’s last visit in 2001 because it now has solar powered lights internally.

The only noise you can hear is the bleating of the sheep scattered around the mountain and on some weekdays, the RAF do low flying over the cottage – so low that you can see the pilots!

If you want to escape from the “rat-race” as Mama calls it, then this is really the place to unwind. They holiday-ed here at least 5 times over the years with one of the holiday’s being their belated honeymoon.

Flashback Fridays

Oh boy. Now then. this is going back to 2003. Me and my sadly departed brother (Fin) were about 6 months old and we went camping with our real mama (Izzy) and our older sister (Kelpie) – both of whom are now with Fin and Gus playing across that Rainbow Bridge.

Anyway, we’d obviously gone out on a long walk and then we all collapsed on Their bed – how funny!!!! Can’t remember where Mama and Dada eventually slept – maybe they squeezed on to the bed as well!

Happy Hallowe’en

Been so busy lately, travelling between Nottingham and Mablethorpe that I don’t know my “head” from my “tail”, never mind which house I’m actually in. So I’ve cheated this year with my pumpkin and done the same “face” as last year. Although Dada said it this one is much better than the last one.

So, Happy Hallowe’en. Don’t eat too many “treats”. I’m rather boring in my old age and lock the gate so that no one can get in! But all you youngsters out there – enjoy!!!!!!!
