Finlay and the Cygnet

Just how close can a Scottie and a Cygnet get …….

Finlay & the Cygnet

Meet Finlay’s new friend. This is one of a group FIVE cygnets, followed closely by their parents. It’s been a fantastic sight on the Reservoir to see all SEVEN gracefully moving around the reservoir. Although now, the parents are trying to encourage their babies to find their own way, and one of the cygnets is now not allowed near the rest of them!

We regularly share bread with them, the ducks, coots and gulls, but are disappointed that She gives the Reservoir Residents all the bread and we don’t get any! Other than those crumbs that don’t make it into the water.

What new friends have you guys been making …..

Oh My Dog ……..

It’s Friday 13th !!!!

Gus, looking "Friday 13th"

Desperately need to go for a nice walk today, as we were “holed-up” waiting for a delivery yesterday, but have realised (scary music …..) that it’s Friday 13th.

Oh well, we’ll be on the look out for fallen and crashing trees; puddles that are deeper than they appear; on coming dogs that look friendly but turn out otherwise; and generally be alert for ladders and black cats! Oh. And we hope She’s careful too ……

Please take care, all of you out there, and have a safe but enjoyable weekend!

Thank Dog It’s ……

Stopped being so windy!

Last week the wind caused us Scotties lot of problems. If the wind was behind us then our bottoms were exposed – not very nice – and our beards and eyebrows wanted to overtake us and cause us not to see where we were going!

Bobby given the fallen tree a good stare!

If we were heading into the wind, then twigs, leafs and other stuff seemed to head towards us with gay abandon! Not sure which way we preferred the wind to blow. Oh Yes. We do. We’d like the wind to calm down, be sensible and do nice things like just ruffle our coats a little. Oh and not to frighten Her when a tree crashes to the ground just feet from the path we were on.

We’re not asking for much, are we?

Fin quite concerned, Gus .... not bovvered!

Merry on Mondays?

by Bobby, aged 9 & ¾

Well I’m not. No. Not me. I got told off on Friday ‘cos I chased several lady deers into a field and wouldn’t come back when called. Don’t know why She was worried – have you seen the length of their legs. I never stood a chance of catching them. What did she think I was gonna do! Bring home venison for tea!

Anyway, got put on lead when I finally decided to return, and have sulked all weekend. And Monday. That’s why no blog from me. But now I’m ok. Thanks for asking.

Have a Merry Monday, although it’s Wednesday, who’s counting – not me! Think I’m still sulking.
