Ohhhh … so long ago but I remember this as if it was yesterday. Mama only gto the kitchen door shut in time before we all piled out to “shoo” off the intruder. However. Mama knew it wouldn’t be a polite “shooing” we’d be giving this little furry critter – that’s why she shut the door on us.
Now then …. I’m the only one left (again) from those depicted here. So, from left to right is my older brother William, followed by his litter brother Gus (who lived with us), then there is my litter brother, my beloved Fin-Fin or Finlay as he was christened … then there is me, Bobby, and lastly my niece, Poppy – daughter on my older sister (William and Gus’s litter sister) Kelpie. William and Poppy went to live with Mama’s very very good friend Maggie Crisfield Walters. We kept is constant touch and this is a photo from one of those occasions when we all got together.
Now they are all waiting for me across that Rainbow Bridge. I’m nearly 12 now, and know it won’t be long before I’m reunited with that side of my family …. but for now, I’m enjoying all this blogging.
Hope you all have a fantastic weekend – catch up with you all next week.
Those were the day …. back in 2005. We visited The Isle of Skye – what a fabulous photo of me, My mother Isobel, my older Sister Kelpie, and my litter brother Finlay. And the weather …… as you can see it looks rather Mediterranean, not what you’d expect from Scotland ….. Those were the days!
And finally, the 5 day Favourite Photo mania is at an end. After today I shall have my own bloggie back. But I shouldn’t grumble too much because the photos were all of me and my brothers, sister and mum, plus the odd one of that feisty little fireball called Fabianne.
This is the last photo in the 5 day photo challenge, Mama displayed on her Facebook page, and it shows the clan of five – oh those happy days. Here’s what Mama said about this photo …. “And finally, here’s the photo for Day Five : such happy happy memories of my Sparhawk clan of 5 beautiful beautiful scotties from 2007. Only Bobby Scottie Elkin remains by my side, the others are waiting for us across the Rainbow Bridge! One day, Izzy, Kelpie, Gus and Finlay, we’ll all meet again, and go scampering in the countryside, just like in this wonderful photo.”
Wow! Now then. This is ‘The Old Man of Storr’ on the Isle of Skye (apparently our ancestral home if you believe some of the history books). The Old Man of Storr is the monolith type structure, so I’m told! My real Mama (Izzy) and sister Kelpie had actually been up there. Mama thinks this was taken in or around 1997 or 1998. Their little sturdy legs carried them right up to the ‘cathedral’ and beyond. Although I have been to the Isle of Skye, this is one majestic icon that I didn’t get to leave any pee-mail on – and according to Mama I never shall ‘cos she says her legs are far too old to walk up there again – boooooring!
Today is the 2nd annual Scottish Terrier Health Network’s “Awareness Day”. So it’s time, once again to break out that plaid and wear it with scottie pride. Some of you “joined in” last year, by sporting tartan ribbons. If you fancy doing it again, don’t forget to send us photos for our 2014 Awareness Album.
Here’s just some of the photos from last year ….. See if you can spot a friend from blogsville ……
