Love a Tree Day

tree!Wanted to share with Ranger the “Love a Tree” day today.  However, no matter how much cajoling She did, there was no way we were gonna be seen near a tree. And as our bloggies are about us Scotties and other lovely breeds, we were not gonna take a picture of Her “loving a tree”.

So the next best thing we can do, is to show you this tree, which we passed today, that really needs to be “loved”. Poor thing seems to have broken a big branch after all the windy weather we’ve had – so lets all give this tree a little blogsville collective hug. Hope you don’t mind Ranger – maybe not quite what you had in mind.

Prisoners!

“One Word Wednesday” has been abandoned for today as we report that we are being held Prisoners in our own home! We need rescuing. So come on Scottie Friends, the next best thing after eating food, is that we like to dig – so start digging them there tunnels and set us free. We can get into our garden through the dog-flap so don’t worry ’bout breaking into the house – but be quick ‘cos its raining here today and we can’t pace around the garden all day waiting for you.

We’re even sleeping in different rooms ‘cos we’re so depressed. Yes we do look scruffy, but don’t tell her otherwise we’ll end up on the grooming table – it’s bad enough being prisoners never mind being nice and clean.

And the reason we’re Prisoners! – well we’re waiting for a service man to come (apparently any time between 8am and 6pm) to fix the fridge/freezer – the control panel is flickering and it’s annoying Them. So come on you guys, get digging, we don’t need to snoopervise Their work, we need to get out.

Choresday

Choresday – off to a good start. Yeah? NO! It was only the banging and hollering of the meter reader man at the garden gate, that woke Mama up this morning ….. at 9:50am!! Her excuse was that she’d set Her alarm at 0600 to help Him wake up to catch the 0715 train to London – after that She promptly fell fast asleep.

So, after our brunch (!!!!) and her 14km exercise bike ride we’d hope to go for a walk. However, we reminded her that it was (a) now too hot and (b) the ironing needed doing. Compromise agreed …. Mama would do the sunbathing ironing  in the garden and we’d get to go on Fin’s favourite walk : round the local reservoir.

Both chores completed it was back home for a late tea …. must be something to do with not getting up till 10am or something.

However, there was one more chore left to do …. hose-duties – no not house duties but hose duties i.e. watering the gardens. Uh-oh another compromise loomed. Today was to be an AFD (Alcohol Free Day) Yeah! get real …. this is our Mama we’re talking about! So bottle of wine purchased on the way home from the Reservoir, tuna, cottage cheese and flax seed combo for dinner (that’s us not Her); followed by Mama with a glass of wine in one hand and the hose pipe in the other : what a way to end Choresday. How was yours?

Friends with benefits!

Couldn’t get out during the weekend – weather was a little unpredictable, so we hunkered down and had a restful weekend.

So here’s us with our niece Poppy who came to visit on Friday and as the weather was good, we took her for a walk around one of our local patches. Finlay in his stroller and me & Pops sniffing and ambling along. Had to drag the two humans along as they were in much need of exercise as They’d just had a big lunch, We did get a few crumbs so we can’t complain.

Her friend Maggie, asked if there were any ducks along the way as she wanted to feed them some bread. On occasions there’s the odd duck family alongside the disused canal, but on Friday it seemed they had all gone somewhere else. However, continuing our walk took us past a field with some horses in. So Her friend gave the horse some bread and cake. This is the reaction from one of the horses after sniffing the cake offered to him! The little fella kept doing it and She managed to get a brilliant photo of the horse.

Cake .... gimme cake!
Cake …. gimme cake!
